Dymatize BCAA Product Description
Dymatize has created a concentrated powder of the amino acids Valine, Leucine, and Isoleucine. This trio of amino acids is often referred to as BCAAs or branched chain amino acids. These three amino acids are believed to have a “protein sparring” effect. The goal of taking Dymatize BCAAs is to prevent muscle breakdown in the face of intense training while also fostering an anabolic environment so that muscle synthesis can also occur.
Dymatize BCAA Scientific Backing
Unlike research on supplements such as creatine or caffeine, the research on BCAAs is a bit more mixed. BCAAs can often be found in protein powders, like Dymatize’s Elite Whey. These three particular amino acids can help provide energy during strenuous workouts and it is believed that a lack of BCAAs in the blood stream at the time can cause your muscles to break down to compensate.
However, since BCAAs can be used directly, it is thought that preservation of muscle mass is possible when you are performing in a situation that is highly intense and long in duration. A prolonged weight lifting session for a bodybuilder is one possible instance. At this point, supplementing with BCAAs can reduce some of the counter-productive aspects of a long workout and allow you to continue to reap the benefits of a high volume, longer workout, workload.
Unfortunately, research that actually supports this idea have not been done, and those that have primarily look at endurance based sports like long distance cycling.

Dymatize BCAA Mixibility and Taste
While Dymatize BCAAs are excellently priced, it does have some minor issues in the mixibility and taste department. Like most BCAA powders, Dymatize takes vigorous mixing to ensure that the powder does not clump up. A mixing with help with this issue, but if you use just a fork or spoon be prepared to mix for a few minutes.
Since the BCAAs are highly concentrated proteins and do not contain any other sweeteners, the flavor can be a bit bitter tasting to some. Outside of the slightly bitter taste, it is relatively flavorless. This make Dymatize excellent to mix into sugary sports drinks which also help replenish you during a workout.
